A History of Dyson

The founder, James Dyson, developed over 5,000 prototype designs between 1979 and 1984, then a Japanese company called Apex, licensed Dyson's design and built the G-Force vacuum which went on to win the International Design Fair prize in 199 in Japan. James Dyson then used this licensing income set up the Dyson company in Wiltshire and went on to produce the now famous dual cyclone vacuum cleaner featuring constant suction. This first production model, the DC01, became the biggest selling vacuum cleaner in the UK.
